Features Horror in the Darkness

Horror in the Darkness is a short exploration and puzzle solving adventure game inspired by the works of H.P.
Lovecraft, where players explore and investigate, putting together clues and solve puzzles to uncover the secrets of Wentsire Manor.
It is a mobile phone adaption of the classic text-based adventure genre, similar to the point-and-click classics.
The game combines a bleak environment and an sense of underlying dread with moments of comedy to keep you entertained.
Fresh back from the horrors of World War 2, our protagonist was working as a private investigator.
Not hugely successful, but it paid the bills.
Mostly.
But when the widow of his old friend needed his help nothing could have prepared him for the bizarre and uncanny events that were about to unfold.
If you enjoyed this part, the adventure continues in the sequel, Horror at Innsport.

What Our Users Say

Don't just take our word for it. Here's what our users have to say about our Android app.

"Yknow what? That wasn't bad at all. Even for just a text based horror it wasn't hard to navigate and I enjoyed it."

Silver Chicken

"Never played a text based horror game. This put me on. Series carries great Lovecraftian-esque lore and dread. Give it a shot!"

Christian Valera

"The only thing I didn't like was that the story seemed too short. But I love this game."

sarachan

"It is really boring."

jasilovescats

"The entire series of the game is the best! Glad it came with a couple of hints so it helps when you are stuck. The game is a reading and interactive game. I like that the character has personality. The writing paired with the music gives an eerie, foreboding feeling. Love it!"

Hany Feryna

"Fun and makes you think"

batdad89

"OML I LOVE THIS GAME. I've played a bunch of "novel" games, and this is definetely the best. Great story line. Would definetely reccomend and can't wait to play the sequel!"

Moodlez

"To much reading 🙁"

gacha queen

"There are literally tens of thousands of games in the playstore. Craig here said, what if even four of them weren't hot garbage? Looking forward to episode 5!"

Alan Ivar

"I am so stupid but the hints helped me when I was stuck, the story was definitely interesting and I loved reading each bit and thinking which way I'll go to first. I took it nice and slow looking at things to get further details and descriptions before doing anything else. Some sentences were beautifully formed with the choice of words, it brought out quite a nice imagination of the setting and anything physical in the area. Very nice!"
